Blind Ambition

Focusing on our ambition alone blinds us to the bigger picture. What we value most in life may be destroyed by the choices we make.

This unbuilt environmental work as represented through plans and drawings takes the participant on a journey through the life choices of someone with blind ambition.

This unbuilt environmental work as represented through plans and drawings takes the participant on a journey through the life choices of someone with blind ambition.

The path leads the viewer on an uphill climb to the top with paths diverging and choices necessarily left behind to achieve the self-ambition goal. Those choices include foregoing the Garden of Eden (3) with its natural beauty and carefree lifestyle and later bypassing the embraces of humanity (5) for which there is less than necessary time. When the viewer reaches the summit one can ask, “Is the goal worth the sacrifice?” At this highest destination (8), there are views through steel bars of the past trek through life to reflect on the myopic choices made.
